The 2025 Rooster Weekend Extravaganza Thursday, Friday, & Saturday

Greg Malone WA3GM, our Rooster Picnic Chairman and his team have all the events planned. See daily details below.

Picnic details include a huge 50-50, the annual Rooster chorus, introduction of our Net Controls and Board of Advisors, a free exchange table for ham equipment, a tribute to our recent Rooster Silent Keys, introduction of our new Rooster of the Year, our official Rooster Group Photo, plus a great picnic meal. For this event to be successful, we need YOU at this Rooster Weekend.

This is our only “official” Rooster event this year. Reservation form attached must be returned before Wednesday, September 3rd with your payment. The Rooster Extravaganza Weekend will give you three packed days to visit with all your Rooster friends face-to-face. Many new Roosters have crowed-in since our last picnic and we anticipate additional crow-ins. Our numbers are growing and we would like to see all the Roosters come out and enjoy making new friends and sharing the followship of our Rooster group.

We have been invited to the home of Jim K3CHJ and Dotty Toth for our late Thursday afternoon get together starting at 4 PM (out of respect for Jim and Dottie, please do not show up early). They have graciously offered to open their home and pool for a casual late afternoon of food, beverages, and socializing. Cost is $18.00 per person (same price as last year). Their menu is outstanding. Soft drinkswill be provided. No hard stuff. New this year, if interested, you may bring a desert. However, please coordinate with Dottie (610-326-7324) and list all ingredients to avoid allergic reactions. Please confirm your attendance on the Reservations Sheet for our final head count.

Our Golf Chairman, Jim AF3R, has secured Tee times for our annual Rooster golf outing at (same place as last year) Bella Vista Golf Club, 2901 Fagleysville Rd., Gilbertsville, PA 19525. As in the past the SCRAMBLE TOURNAMENT format will be best ball. Tee times will be between 8 and 9 am, to be finalized during via e-mail during August. Please plan to arrive 30-minutes early. The Green Fees are $56.00 per golfer, Senior Rate. Any questions or if you want to participate in this outing, please email Jim AF3R at af3r@juno.com

Friday Brunch, September 12, 2025

For non-golfers, everyone is invited for Brunch at (same place as last year) WQ Diner, 99 W King St, Pottstown, PA 19464. We will be located in the backroom with Brunch starting around 10:30 AM. We will order off the menu and pay by individual checks. Please confirm your attendance on the Reservations Sheet for our final head count.

Saturday September 13, 2025

The ROOSTER PICNIC festivities will begin at Noon on Saturday, September 13th at the Casey Service Club for Knights of Columbus picnic area (same place as last year) at 675 Constitution Ave, Stowe, PA 19464. Please DO NOT SHOW UP EARLY. If early, you must remain in the parking lot until Noon as our Chef and servers need time to setup in the picnic area. The fun is scheduled to start at Noon with some hors d'oeuvre, followed by a catered picnic meal and festivities continuing until around 3 PM. The $36/per adult (same as last year) and children under 13-years old are $10/child (same as last year) which covers most of the picnic food cost including provided beverages, tea, soft drinks, and water. Please do not bring any other beverages onto the picnic grounds. Greg WA3GM, his committee, and the caterer worked very hard to get the best price we could. Donations and the Roosters cover all other costs like facility rental, servers, etc. Hors d'oeuvre and social hour starts at Noon with the catered meal at 12:30 and festivities throughout until about 3PM. Although our picnic is outside, due to recent renovations and Health Department guidance, smoking is not permitted around the picnic pavilion area. If you have a favorite dessert item you would want to share, feel free to bring it along. Try to avoid any allergen ingredients like nuts, strawberries, etc. Please provide a sign (3x5 card) with your name, call sign and major ingredients, especially possible allergens, to be placed with your dessert item.
